Spanish majors are encouraged to explore new fields through Independent Study, including such topics as theater and dance, bilingual education, social and economic issues, political developments in Spain and Latin America, language-teaching methodology, literature, and intercultural communication. The I.S. experience strengthens students’ research skills and gives them an advantage when competing with graduates from colleges and universities that do not have such a program.
