The
growing importance of Spanish, now spoken as a first language by more
than 30 million North Americans, has made it essential for many professionals
to be fluent. The objective at The College of Wooster is to enrich students
intellectually and to fully equip them for their experiences in the real
world.
The curriculum of the Department of Spanish may be utilized
for specialization leading to public school or university teaching; research
in Peninsular Spanish literature and culture, Latin American literatures
and cultures or Hispanic Linguistics; business and government work; work
with the Peace Corps and a wide variety of professional, service, and
voluntary agencies in Spanish-speaking areas of the world and urban and
rural concentrations of Hispanic peoples in the USA. |
