Studies Department I.S. Titles
I.S. is an exciting prospect in this department. You and your I.S. adviser
will meet one-on-one each week to plan and implement a research project
of your own design. In your junior I.S. semester, you will attend a library
training session, and then work all semester to complete a 30 page paper.
If you plan to study abroad, it is possible to complete your junior I.S.
at off-site institutions.
Senior year you will work for two I.S. semester on a 60
page paper—either a continuation of I.S. work performed junior year, or
an entirely new project. This in-depth study is the capstone experience for our
majors. Guided by your adviser, you will conduct in-depth research, analyze diverse
data, and learn how make an original contribution to knowledge about religion.
This department takes your
work and ideas seriously.
I.S. in Religious Studies sharpens your ability to think creatively,
critically, and empathetically, and teaches you how to express those thoughts
logically, thoroughly, and
articulately. |
