The Major

The major was created in 2001 from a well-established program in biochemistry. Students begin by taking a foundation of core classes in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Upper-level required classes include Biochemistry I & II, Cell Physiology, Genetics, and Techniques in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Students then elect to focus on upper-level chemistry and/or biology classes along with junior Independent Study and senior Independent Study.
