The Major
The biology major at Wooster consists of at least 15 courses, including
the required three introductory course sequence, which covers genetics
and evolution (Biology 101), molecular and cellular biology (Biology 201)
and ecology, evolution and organismal biology (Biology 202). A student
then selects at least six course from more than a dozen upper-level courses,
allowing the design of a specialty within the major.

When selecting their six upper level courses, students must select at
least one from each of the two subdivisions of molecular and cellular
biology (MCB) and ecology, evolution and organismal biology (EEOB). Students
are also required to take one year of introductory chemistry and one course
in either organic chemistry, physics or calculus, in addition to Junior
IS/Biostatistics (Biology 401) and two semesters of Senior IS thesis (Biology
451, 452). |
