Are guest tickets required for any of the scheduled events during Commencement Weekend?
No event during Commencement Weekend requires a guest ticket, including the All-Campus Picnic on Sunday, May 11. All other meals may be purchased at Lowry Center Dining Room.
- What are the prices of meals for guests?
Meal prices for Lowry Center Dining Room are: breakfast $5.00; lunch $7.00; dinner $9.00; corresponding prices for children (ages 2-11) are: $3:25; $4.25; and $5.25. Please note that tickets are not required for the All-Campus Picnic on Sunday, May 11.
- Will the College be providing any transportation between
local hotels and the campus on the day of Commencement?
The College will be providing a shuttle van service to and from Lowry Center on Monday, May 12. This service will be available to and from the following area hotels: Best Western, Days Inn, Econolodge, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, and Rodeway Inn. Shuttles will run every half hour, beginning at 7:30 a.m., with a final run to campus at 9:30 a.m. Return shuttles to each designated location will depart from Lowry Center at half-hour intervals from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Guests will be both dropped off and picked up at Lowry Center. Please note that shuttle service is not available on Sunday, May 11.
- Where will parking be available to guests during Commencement
Weekend?
All on-campus parking lots will be open for guests on a first-come, first-served basis. On Sunday, May 11, additional parking will be available at the Gault Family Learning Center, located at 716 Beall Avenue or a few blocks south of campus; shuttle van service will not be available that day. On Monday, May 12, additional parking will be available at First Presbyterian Church, located at 621 College Avenue or two blocks south of campus. Shuttle van service will run on the half-hour between 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 12.
- Will the College be providing any transportation between
the parking lots and the Commencement site for guests with disabilities
or those otherwise in need of assistance?
On Sunday, May 11, courtesy golf carts and drivers will be available following Baccalaureate until 2:30 p.m. On Monday, May 12, courtesy golf carts and drivers will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Ebert Art Center, Holden Hall, Lowry Center, Galpin-Taylor, and Wagner Hall parking lots to transport guests to The Oak Grove (or the Armington Physical Education Center, in case of rain). Following Commencement, courtesy golf carts and drivers will be available on the south lawn of Kauke Hall (or the Armington Physical Education Center, in case of rain).
- Will any space be reserved at Commencement Weekend events
for guests using wheelchairs?
During Baccalaureate and the Commencement Concert on Sunday, May 11, reserved seating will be available for guests using wheelchairs on the main floor of McGaw Chapel. On Monday, May 12, individuals using wheelchairs can find comfortable seating in the The Oak Grove. If Commencement is moved into the Armington Physical Education Center due to inclement weather, spaces will be reserved for guests using wheelchairs on the gymnasium floor in front of the bleachers. Student ushers will be available to assist with seating.
